This piece was painted on an 11″ by 14″ oak panel. The first layer was a liquid application of acrylic, and the mountains and UFO were added after that layer cured. I applied an interstitial coat of varnish which added a feeling of security while working the mountains and saucer, but it made the painting of them a little challenging. The finished product has a resin coat on top.
